Principal

Mr. Stearns has over 23 years experience in the civil design/construction engineering field. His experience includes project management, design, construction administration, and construction inspection on a variety of municipal, industrial, institutional, and commercial projects. These include such areas as the design of sewers, storm drains, water mains, pump stations, streets, parking lots and athletic fields, as well as overall site design, existing facilities upgrades, and sewer system evaluation studies.

Mr. Stearns has served a primary management and design role on such diverse projects as the watershed analysis and design of structural plate culverts and arches to replace facilities and roadways destroyed in the flood of October 1996 in Windham, Maine; design, utility coordination and bidding of the Beth Condon Memorial Pathway in Yarmouth, Maine; drainage analysis and design of stormwater management facilities for the DeLorme Mapping Company in Yarmouth, Maine; the Summer Street Housing complex in Freeport, Maine; and several residential and commercial projects; site design for building additions and new athletic fields at Bonny Eagle Middle School; site design for new athletic fields at Yarmouth High School; drainage study, Yarmouth, Maine; construction administration, Yarmouth Middle School; redesign of Johnson Road in Falmouth, Maine; site design and construction administration for an ash loading building at Maine Energy Recovery Company in Biddeford, Maine; Site Location of Development permits for Northways Office Building and North Office Annex, Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine; and field work and design of gravity sewers, force mains, and pump stations in the Towns of Dixfield, Canton, Jackman, and Sabattus, and the City of Westbrook.

Mr. Stearns has been involved on projects from the initial conception phase through the design, procurement, and final construction phases. Management responsibilities include coordination of survey and geotechnical investigations, preliminary design, preparing applications and securing all DEP and local permits, final design, preparation of bid documents and specifications, bidding, award, and administration during construction.
